In the remote Moroccan desert, a rifle shot rings out and sets off a chain of events involving four different families. An innocent accident ends up impacting the lives of a holidaying American couple, two Moroccan herdsmen, a Mexican nanny illegally crossing the border and a surly, deaf Japanese teen.
